Fight Against Climate Change. Laguna Water’s Regulatory and External Affairs Head Real C. Magtangob (7th from L) and Sta. Rosa City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas (8th from L) signed the Toka-Toka’s Pledge of Commitment for the Environment.
Laguna Water participated in SILAKBO 8, Sta. Rosa City's annual bike, walk and fun run event aimed at raising environmental awareness and responsiveness, held last April 23 at The Fields in Nuvali.
Themed "Fighting Climate Change, Our Responsibility As One Family," more than 1,200 fitness and environment enthusiasts participated in SILAKBO – a contraction of the Filipino words “sikad” (bike), “lakad” (walk), and “takbo” (run).
Aside from providing water hydration to event participants, Laguna Water also conducted its information, education, and communication (IEC) programs focused on proper used water management and the protection and preservation of water resources, Mobile Lakbayan and Toka Toka.
During the program, Sta. Rosa City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas signed the Laguna Water's Toka Toka Pledge of Commitment for the Environment. The ceremonial signing forged a strong partnership between the City and Laguna Water in championing environmental sustainability. Participants of the event were also asked to place their names in the Toka-Toka Pledge Tree as a sign of their commitment to actively take part in the protection and preservation of the Earth's natural richness.
An advocate of environmental sustainable development, Laguna Water has always supported initiatives related to the protection and the proper use of the planet's natural resources. As Laguna Water offers its services to the entire province of Laguna, the company looks forward to establishing new partnerships with other cities and municipalities and both private and public organizations to further strengthen and advance its advocacies for the environment.
Laguna Water is a successful public-private partnership between the Provincial Government of Laguna and Manila Water Philippine Ventures, a wholly-owned company by Manila Water Company Inc. (Manila Water), the Ayala-led water service provider in the East Zone of Metro Manila and a leader in the water industry in the Philippines, with presence in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia.
